Ken Sutterfield


Most recently Ken served as the Senior Regional Resource Development Director for the Arkansas-Oklahoma Division of The Salvation Army 2012-2022.  Previously Ken  served as the Chief Development Officer with the American Red Cross of Arkansas.   His body of professional work also includes directing Lake Nixon Day Camp, Little Rock, AR, Pine Cove Christian Camps, Tyler, TX, and the development and building of Ozark Conference Center in Solgohachia, Arkansas from conception to operation.  Additionally, Ken served on the National Board of Trustees of (CCCA) Christian Camp and Conference Association. He continues to support Christian Camping domestically and internationally. Over a ten-year period, Ken served as the Chief Development Officer for Subiaco Abbey & Academy and as Dean of Operations for Little Rock Christian Academy.  During Ken’s almost 45 years of nonprofit leadership he has served in the areas of Christian Camp & Conference ministry, Private Education and Social Work & Emergency Services.    

Ken serves on the Board of Directors of Refueling in Flight, ”A ministry that brings refreshment to the soul to the busy and fragmented lifestyle of the 21st century”.  He along with other board members facilitate and lead CEO Dialogues® which  brings together ministry leaders for one-day confidential discussions focused on the topics of mutual interest to the small gathering. 

In recent years  Ken was awarded The Resource Development Director of the Year Award for the Southern Territory of The Salvation Army. Ken is also the author of The Power of an Encouraging Word (New Leaf Press) which was featured in several of the Men of Integrity devotional guides published by Christianity Today. He is also co-author with Dan Bolin of the best-selling book How to be your Little Man’s Dad (Navpress) now with over 135,000 in print. Ken and his wife Jan met while attending Ouachita Baptist University in their native Arkansas and have been married for 45 years and are the parents of two married sons and five grandchildren. They are active members of Saint Andrews Anglican Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.
